The engine does idle rough from time to time but not always. From what I have read, it is highly likely it is the coil. I was just wondering if it makes a difference on the brand. I want to do the work myself because I don't want to be charged an arm and a leg for something that is so easy to change.

Hello I personally recommend the OEM coils. The factory coils are build to work perfectly with your car and have 1 year warranty.

When nissan coils go on backorder we get them from napa or autopart international. When you take them out of the box the coil itself is identical. Nissan part is on the coil.

I replaced all the coil packs at different times over 8 - 12 months I think a mix of 3 brands of coil packs. I still had the same diagnostic codes showing up.
So I replaced all the spark plugs with the oe ngk pfr5g spark plugs and that solved the problem for a few hours and the rough idleing went way. But now the same diagnostic codes and have shown up again.
